Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado seeks Apprentice Teachers (AT).
Apprentice Teachers are instructional extensions of the primary classroom teacher.
They are expected to demonstrate high moral character and work toward the mastery of the subjects they teach under the supervision of the primary classroom teacher and/or Dean of Faculty and Headmaster.
ATs work collaboratively to create a working and learning environment for all students that is safe, secure, and respectful.
This position would report to the Dean of Faculty and begin in August 2024.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Collaborate directly with the teacher(s) to implement a content-rich classical education by following curriculum guidelines and expectationsSubstitute teach when teacher is absent Assist with classroom housekeeping items such as collecting, organizing, and grading students' work and materials, copying worksheets, distributing materials and items, keeping a tidy classroom)Build positive relationships with students by checking up on missing work, managing behaviors, executing small group and individual instruction, proctoring tests and evaluations, and meeting all accommodationsAssist with daily operations of the school, such as supervision of beginning and end of day routines and procedures, lunch and recess times, and other transitional periodsBe respectfully assertive in guiding and mentoring students, utilizing classical pedagogy methodsProactively identify struggling or advanced students to provide additional support or academic extensionsCollaborate with Students Services team to meet requirements of special educational plans, such as IEPs, 504s, and othersMaintain confidentiality in student recordsMaintain a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learnersEffectively communicate with supervisor and teammatesPerform other related duties as directedQualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
Previous exposure to classical education is preferred but not requiredPossess excellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to communicate with students, staff and guardians in a professional mannerExemplary work habits verified by previous employersPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 15 poundsMust be able to supervise students for outdoor recess periods for at least 25 minutes outdoorsMust be able to traverse the classroom, school and stairsMust be able to traverse classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each childBenefits Available:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
