The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative & reactive maintenance on conveyors, fillers, scales and other various types of food packaging equipment.
This role will also assist other maintenance technicians to create a cohesive team.
Job Responsibilities Perform duties consistent with established safety protocols and procedures.
Develop written procedures and create preventative maintenance documentation for unestablished equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
Read and utilize electrical/mechanical schematics and equipment manuals.
Complete assigned work efficiently using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Lead process improvement and initiate positive change.
Use maintenance software to track PMs and organize daily workloads.
Job Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Must be able to continuously stand, bend, and twist and lift up to 50 lbs.
on rare occasions Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to follow safety policies and procedures is required (e.
g.
, lock out / tag out, confined space entry) Must have reliable transportation 3 years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment preferred Light machining skills and welding ability preferred but not required Working knowledge of how PLCs function and the ability to troubleshoot I/O.
Ability to utilize maintenance software namely MaintainX.
Knowledge of food safety and quality requirements Experience maintaining rotary screw compressors and dust collection systems a plus Environment Ambient conditions - Work area is, typically, a non-air-conditioned production environment.
Hot or cold Temperatures, all seasonal elements, both indoors and outdoors.
Atmosphere:
Dust (Peanut - known allergen), cotton, canola seed, and odor Must be able to work around noise levels that may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift Protective clothing required:
Uniforms, hardhats, earplugs, safety glasses, hair restraints, steel-toed shoes, gloves and safety harness may be required based on task performed; employees are required to wear all required PPE (i.
e.
hard-hats, safety glasses, earplugs, uniforms, and steel-toed boots) in addition to job specific PPE requirements.
Physical Requirements Ascending/descending stairs, bending, kneeling and prolonged periods of standing and sitting, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently Ability to operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
