AVID TUTORNature and Scope of Job:
Tutoring opportunities exist at middle and high schools.
Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day.
Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing.
Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutors' availability.
Education, Licenses, Certification, or Formal Training:
Active enrollment in higher ed - e.

college or universityPrior to employment, all candidates must pass a background checkComplete AVIDTutor training with AVID Site Coordinator
Qualifications:
Applicants should have organizational and record keeping skills, excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage time and meet obligations with minimal supervision.
Applicants must maintain confidentiality and perform all functions of the position.
