We are currently seeking a Plant Controller to join our staff at our Windsor, CO plant.
Position
Summary:
This position is responsible for the accounting and internal controls in a plant environment and supervising the various financial transactions, accounting controls and accounting department functions. It is also responsible for administering plant's cost control function including coordinating plant's forecasting budgeting and objectives defined by division or management. This position is the central point of contact between the plant and divisional headquarters for financial and other administrative matters.
Principal Accountabilities:
(All other duties as assigned)
Finance thought leader at the plant responsible for driving cost analysis and supporting manufacturing cost optimization initiatives
Responsible for all technical plant accounting issues
Manages the balance sheet and P&L statement preparation
Manages the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, & annual reporting requirements as instructed by corporate.
Responsible for the planning functions including budget and forecasting.
Meets with plant management and other departments to discuss accounting problems, policy interpretations, cost distributions, saving initiatives and key metrics of the plant performance.
Directly communicates with plant management staff regarding all material and expense expenditures, storeroom, requisition, & Pro-cards and reconciliation of these.
Prepares or directs the preparation of capital projects.
Supervises fixed assets of the facility
Prepares annual plans and forecasts of plant operations
Executes monthly Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Ensures accurate reporting of Lean project savings
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques, and principles.
Knowledge in controlling including standard cost and manufacturing variance concept.
In depth understanding and application of profit and loss, balance sheet, and income statement.
Competent to complete reconciliations, journal entries and month end close activities independent.
Strong understanding of accounting systems and data flow.
Ability to get along with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional and flexible.
Ability to reason through problems and suggest workable solutions.
Verbal and written skills are necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with our customer network.
Ability to work with limited direction and the capability to problem solve.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in SAP and/or ERP is preferred
Organizational skills necessary to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with large amounts of numerical data.
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements a plus.
Experience with working with internal and external requirements is a plus.
Work experience in a Plant environment is preferred
Additional work hours may be required during month end close.
Scope and Impact:
Scope: Responsible for all financial aspects of plant operation (i.e. historical, budgeting, and forecasting).
Impact: Accurate financial reporting, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation, and efficient cost efficient operation of plant.
Position Requirements
Education and Experience Desired:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in accounting or finance
3-4 years related work experience
Previous experience in a similar position is preferred
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Plant Manager and Regional Finance Manager.
Direct reports to this position are: Plant Accountant, Store Room Attendant and Payroll Clerk.
Travel Requirements:
There may be some travel associated with this position for training and/or project work
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
